Hello all, I'm new here and enjoying the fantastic forum posts. Such a wealth of knowledge.

My speedy is a model 145.022-69 and as you can see from the pic is has a DON bezel which is in good condition. As far as I can tell its all original case, dial, hands and pushers.

My research has shown all the DON bezel 145.22-69 were made before the end of 1969, and after this 70-71 were DNN bezels. Is this correct? I purchased the watch as a 1969 year as this is my birth year.

Also would you be able to help with an approx value. I'm not selling just want to ensure my insurance value is correct.

thanks in advance for your help..

    Hi, and welcome!

Hmmm...not so sure exactly when the crossover happened, but DONs may have come out in the early 70's.

What date do you get when you enter your serial here : ilovemyspeedmaster.com ?

    Nice speedie...WIGH

Edit : Incase you didn't know, -69 does not mean it was produced in 1969.

Thanks for the help. I looked on the ilovemyspeedmaster.com website at it advises Sept 1970 and a value for good condition of $6800
I guess I should be happy with that, it's close enough to 1969 and in nice condition, all working well and original

    Speedmaster101 running good collector
    145.022-69/DO90 3300 6800 9800

...so maybe somewhere between good and collector...depending on condition of case, attraction of dial etc (can't see from that pic). But for insurance I guess its your choice to over-insure or under-insure...

Over insure I’d put it at 14,000. But your insurance company will want an appraisal.
