    Perhaps it's good advice.

    You keep repeating the mantra but it doesn't change anything. Praying to people for a ban is a lowball in my opinion.
    Perhaps take some timeout and read up on what is in ISO 22810. You will find info. on what is expected when any watch has a water resistant mark on the caseback and the ISO recommendations for the end user, or perhaps it's ISO that is spreading this false info.::book::

    I think the point Stuffer is trying to make is that Omega doesn't "approve" of snorkeling or diving with a Speedmaster. The watch IS rated for 50m water resistance - of STATIC pressure, but it is not rated at 50m for long-term underwater use -
    like when diving or Snorkeling. SNORKEL !!

    Sometimes 50m != 50m

    ;-)

    The speedmaster is water-resistant which basically means it's able to resist the penetration of water to some degree but not entirely, while a seamaster was conceived to be waterproof and actually says so on the caseback : high pressure waterproof.

    Since when has any vintage speedmaster had a water resistance mark on the caseback?
    You are now reinforcing the opinion of many here on the forum that you are a dickhead, and that you have been since day one.
    Talk about digging your own grave. ::facepalm2::

    Have to say, this is the most fun thread I've read in a long time. It has everything one could hope for: confusion, clarity, trolling, charts, watchmaker demos, running gags - what more could one ask for? You can't find more entertainment on Netflix.

    It is like a car wreck, it is tragic and off putting, but you just can't look away. Quite the circus!

    Who said\wrote anything about vintage Speedmasters with water resistant marks? Perhaps you should read up on the ISO spec as well, you might learn something, but as you have trouble with reading it's unlikely.

    I liken it to the flat earth brigade, there's some people who are just unable to take info. that's presented to them, even when it comes from an international body such as ISO.

    I read the ISO specs on dive watches many years ago, perhaps before you were born given that you are coming across as a twelve year old.

    Ok, be careful of what you wish for as from now on it's the International Organisation for Standardisation:)

    Ah, I see now where you are going wrong, please refer to the international Organisation for Standardisation 28810 and not what you had previously read up on which was as we know 6425.

    Now, the other night I was cooking some salmon while wearing a Speedmaster. Does this mean I should be worried!?
