I'm going to be in Amsterdam and Budapest in the next couple of weeks, and wonder if anyone can recommend vintage watch shops worth seeking out in either city. Thanks.

I'm afraid everything in Holland is going to be very expensive, with Amsterdam being even more expensive than that

Don't forget to get your VAT tax back if your not living in the EU makes a difference to the price

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to visit, though as others have noted, the prices will make a purchase unlikely.

Thanks, @Shabbaz. It looks like they have an interesting collection, but those prices! Even subtracting VAT leaves them very high. But I may pay a visit just to look.

But look at the watches through a magnifying glass and perform your due dilligence concerning the pedigree of them.

I've visited those AMS vintage watch stores quite a few times, nice for a browse or for a new strap, but the prices of the watches are certainly not for the faint hearted!

There is a few antique shops in the same street as a vintage watch shop that I found watches in also.

@cristos71 might know the street name.
The one that sits where there is two roads out the front of the shop and left across the canal the antique shops start

I think you may mean the Spiegelgracht, which has quite a few antiquey shops, a few of which have watches....same story though...make sure you bring a handerchief for the nosebleed prices!
