Saw this is a local pawn shop. Now do you determine what model one of these vintage watches is with case back removal? I didn't see a gold marking but this this is a beauty

Probably a gold cap as far as I can tell from the pics. The dial looks genuine.

You need a special sort of knife and some practice to open this kind of back. So better to bring your watch to a watchmaker to have him open it.

 

I've opened my own before but they won't let me open this one yet. Plus they're asking way too much anyway. It's a pretty watch regardless

 

Tell them you won't buy it without them opening it. Once opened, negotiate like Henry Kissinger to get it to a cost you an live with. All of this assuming the movement doesn't look like a turd.

So what ARE they asking for it? Enquiring minds want to know!
