I'm new to the forum. I currently have a 9ct Gold Automatic from the 70's which is a dress watch. I purchased it from Watch Doctors of Tring and am well pleased with it. I now want one which is more suitable for everyday use. Did Omega make a Seamaster with a grey dial in the 70's?

    I am considering e-bay item no. 360470586190

Welcome. While I think Omega did have some grey dials, that one is not the original finish. The seller would go out of their way to say so if it was, and nowhere in the listing does it say the dial is original - even though he does mention that the bracelet is.

Thanks you've saved me being ripped off. I think I'll stick to the well established dealers with a good reputation even if I have to pay more.
Having said that there is a jeweller in Cheltenham with a good reputation selingl a '1958' Seamaster (the year I was born). He says the Cal is 1010 which I think makes it a 1972/3.

Correct - the 10xx series was introduced in 1972. If it's from 1958 odds are it would have a 50x series caliber.
