    Hi,

Still new to Vintage Omegas and still trying to learn.

Just wondering if this Seamaster dial is still original or not?

The dial seems a bit too clean and a bit unsure about the Seamaster text and the hands. I think they are a bit too long?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks s-l1600.jpg s-l1600-3.jpg

Well freash lume and no T’s on the dial might raise some flags.

Not liking the minute markers line up with the hour markers.

Yes. To my understanding there should be T's on both sides of the Swiss Made.

Or it predates that requirement yet has very new looking lume on it...

    Hi,

Lume is green and should be burnt out radium (so no T's would be there if from 50's like text indicated). So certainly been relumed.

Not sure if dial is original, but if lume is any indication I'd say it's been tampered with. I wouldn't go near this one.

Hands also look to be fresh replacements. There are much better examples out there.

As mentioned above, the Ts are a red herring. Watches of this era were Radium lumed with no dial indication. Or not lumed at all. Whether bumper or full rotor, that case design isn’t seen after the 1950s. I like the dial text but the Green lume colour screams tritium relume.

It has, at a minimum, been relumed - I'll go out on a limb and say that it has been cleaned recently (within 20 years, probably more recently) and been relumed at that point with non-radioactive lume material. Hands are, as said, incorrect replacement.

Thanks for the feedback. Everyone i have asked agree that its been relumed and the hands are incorrect.
