Owning a few Modern Swiss Watches and i have ventured into new territory with the Purchase of this Vintage Seamaster De Ville Crosshair with Date from an Auction House. Purchase Price was £416, the watch is running and I'm awaiting delivery of the watch.

My question is should The Crown be gold like the watch?

If so what size of crown do i need to find as a replacement, 4.92mm x 3.03mm or 6.04mm x 3.42mm or am i going completely down the wrong line.

And finally, are The Crosshair Models more desirable?

1) My question is should The Crown be gold like the watch?
Yes it should be.

2) If so what size of crown do i need to find as a replacement?
The crowns on these models are split-crowns due to the monocoque case. This means with the right force you can just pull the crown part of the stem out. If you have not done it before I would recommend taking it to someone who knows what they are doing. From a little sleuthing on here I think the part number is 43041 for the vintage crown, there is one on eBay at the moment (I would wait for someone to confirm that this is the correct crown though). Alternatively, you can get a new one from Omega, the part number being 069ST42531 (I think). Do bear in mind that the new crowns can have a different gold tone to the gold plating on the watch.

3) And finally, are The Crosshair Models more desirable?
Yes, they are, if not redialed

Cool Watch!
