I saw this on ebay and thought it looked quite fantastic. Thoughts? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/262899868125?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
The rest is genuine, however it looks like it needs a service as the regulator is retarded too much. This is done to slow it down as the movement is tired and can't put full power to the balance therefore it does smaller faster oscillations, thus making the watch run fast. The movement looks tired and worn and is missing a case screw. I wouldn't touch it.
Reference 2495 was never a Seamaster nor was it a screw back case. As I see it the OPs watch is a counterfeit except for the movement, case, dial and all.
That is concerning. I must admit I didn't do any research after I saw the dial and movement. I've seen many of the older "Seamaster" fakes with AS movements etc, but they were blatant fakes. This is more concerning in that the whole case assembly is a fake, and I'm sure the makers just didn't do a one-off but a whole run to be stamped with whatever reference they like. Another trap for the unwary.
