Hello, hate being that guy that's first post is asking fir opinions on a watch, but I've been reading through hundreds of threads for the past 6 months and think I might have found my next watch! Current own a couple newer automatic Tags and Hamiltons but making a leap into my first vintage Omega!

Any opinions on this watch? Everything seems clean to me minus the patina- my only hesitation is the S is Seamaster but it looks genuine to other CK2577s on Omegas website.

The dial doesn’t look great from here, you should request a properly focused picture.

You know, I'm not a dial zealot, but I think you should pass on this one. The script is very wonky and I've seen a number of these in better condition for sale recently. Even if they were giving it away, you'd always know you have sort of an artless redial.

Hi @greatskiiiier and welcome to OF :)

Good to see you doing some research before pouncing, that's a good start to watch collecting. This one is a pretty bad redial, good thing you didn't just buy it at first glance.

E in seamaster looks off, but better pictures needed

It's all about the pictures for newbies.

If your selling a watch pictures like this help
    ( sellers pic below )
    image.png

I take the worst pictures because I only use a iPad mini ( as all my camera equipment is set up for zoom of crocodiles and wild life ) but at least I get better than the add your looking at
    image.jpeg

And a cool picture @Nobel Prize took and I bought for the home ( it loaded and I thought I would include it because it's cool and a good picture )

This is the best picture I have of the dial. Sounds like a pass so far though

I would keep an eye on the For Sale forums here. I'm sure I've seen similar ones come up recently.

That budget will take skill and luck. But best wishes from here, from time to time even new members dig up some fantastic bargains

    +1

I have been doing some ebay surfing recently and I have seen various fine, non-omega examples in great conditions under the $300 mark. Try perhaps some vintage Certinas, Tissot, Hamilton, others. The most important thing is to be patient and disciplined!

That looks to be the mid-sized version, though. It will have a cal 420, if I remember correctly.

Naturally, this one is a bad redial.
