Hi, I am just getting my self tangled in the world of beautiful vintage watches and have my eyes on a 50'ies or 60'ies Omega. I just found the one on the link below... Very sorry it is all in Danish Very little info as you can see (no references) without knowing the language, but do you have any opinions about the way it looks?? I would not want to buy a watch that is not original even though I would get it for a cent. Anything alarming on this one? Looks beautiful. Cal 562... I believe it is a good movement, but I am not 100% sure. Any comments? What year do you think we are looking at? First half of the 60'ies? What would you expect to pay? I know that is a hard question to answer. http://www.lauritz.com/en/auktion/vintage-omega-automatic-herrearmbaandsur/i3243731/ All input appreciated! I hope you all had a great Christmas and that the holidays continue to be just as good! br, Per
Hi Peppe - nice seeing you here on international ground also. Always good to know there are countrymen here if things get rough... I am sure the moderators will wellcome you and I am also sure you will soon get help in your quest for info on this watch. I am not a specialist regarding these Seamasters but I am pretty sure that crown belongs on a Constellation (and might even be aftermarket - seen a lot of these Connie crowns on ebay lately). regards JE
Something isn't right about that watch and being at work I can't take a long enough look to figure it out.
Looks like its been cobbled together from parts. The case looks like its from something which contained a 10xx movement not the 562 in it and as previously pointed out the crown is incorrect. From just those two points alone it screams franken to me, I'd pass.
Wow... impressive response in no time Also a surprise to find that you are a swede yourself Styggpyggeno1 Hmm... ok... I will hold a bit on it then. As mentioned I would hate to buy a non original one. Damn... It looked just like I wanted it to look. But now that you mention it the crown does seem out of place. I guess it isnok to ask these sort of questions here, right?
Big, big thank you for your help... really. I was really close to going for it. Is it ok to ask these sorts of questions in this forum or am I in the wrong place?
Love this place... you will see a lot more of me in the future... but thanks for this first save I will study more...
This is the forum to ASK that sort of questions...... We mourn a bit when people make buying mistake without asking first.......
Absolutely, nobody here likes telling someone they've made a bad buy after the deal's done, research and learning are a big part of this site, when you have an idea of what you're after, use the forum search function as much as you can to read up and don't be afraid to ask questions.
Peppe, The people here are eager to talk you into watches, not out of, unless there is a good reason! But I'm not going to say anything because I am saving my 400th post for something special! OH, SHIT!!
