·Whole watch has a very pleasing time patina.
Case remains unpolished, and time worn it out gently giving the steel that finish that just some pieces show.
Unfortunately caseback suffered barbaric treatment, which left damage on the teeth.
Outer numbers and coronet are still perfectly defined.
Plexi aged as well as the watch, though I have the feeling it s a replacement at some point of the watch s history. Crown is a nice version with round writings and shows a dent in the very middle.
Dial is a beauty. Not %100 perfect, as it worn out a bit on some areas, but no major damage whatsoever. Golden railroad chapter ring shines and stands out. Blue pave hands make the original match.
Mappin signature is the final touch. Style of the watch reminds me a lot of a Movado which Mappin ordered clearly with their name only. It s just possible these two were partners in a storefront in 1940!
