Is this a service dial? Just curious, I figured it would have some dark-yellow patina being a ~1967 watch.

Hi

I would have thought the lume markers have been 'stripped' with a stark white appearance like that....I'm sure if you ask Nicolas he will confirm if you are interested.

Definitely not a service dial. Lume ages in different ways and this is certainly a Mk I Matte GMT dial. Look at that nice texture to the lume plots (not to mention if you could color correct the original pix--they are quite green-ish in these shots! 😁). Dials age in different ways but this one is correct for the serial #--see my chocolate for comparison:

No dog in the hunt but just my "professional" opinion, 😉
Best,
T.

agreed with Tom here. it s not a golden rule that a 1967 watch has to develop a patina necesarily. as a matter of fact lume composition on this mark 1 matt gmt dials (first matt dials after gilt no chapter ring era) tend in a vast majority to keep a cream toned plots. here another examples I ve had.

Here's my "long E" dial. Definitely agree these often times stay pretty light in color. "Eggshell", if you will.

Yep, 1969 here, sane thing. a lot of the heavier patina watches are the ones that are serviced.
