New to the forums and trying to figure out some info on this Omega reference 2421.

This watch was my grandfathers. Likely purchased in the late 40s. Possibly in Switzerland or USA.

By serial number it would have been 1946 however i thought caliber of 354 was from the early 50s. As far as I know the watch was likely serviced mostly in Switzerland. My father recalls him servicing a 1950s seamaster, his daily watch, annually there. As far as my father recalls, he didn’t wear the stainless 2421 much when he was growing up, although knew it was purchased before his seamaster.

Just trying to connect the dots a bit. Appreciate the help.

Easy explanation. The bridge was replaced.

Otherwise it looks very nice.

28.10RA movement. Need bridge from that caliber (or leave as is) and missing a screw on the rotor arm

Still, very nicely executed if that’s the case

Aside from the movement it is a redial, and has an incorrect crown replacement.

Thank you all for the help. Probably will not bother changing the bridge piece since I’m not interested in selling it but might mention it when getting it serviced. Just was looking for more info when I do get it serviced.

Interesting about the redial and wrong crown…wonder if it got damaged early before the watch was mainly replaced with the seamaster. my father said he has had the watch since the 70s and never had any work done on it other than a service or 2.

I’ve had it since mid 2000s and only had it serviced once. Open to reputable omega service locations on the east coast.
