Early 1950s US-cased Omega with bumper automatic watch. As a watch, it's in rough condition. But it's still hundreds of dollars of gold.

Well, depending on what you paid - and I’m assuming it wasn’t too much in a garage sale, you have genuine early 1950s Omega with a bumper movement badly in need of a service and what very much looks like a poorly repainted dial and a random and incorrect crown.

Hopefully, you’ll remove (and destroy) the horrible and lug-damaging bracelet.

That said, if you didn’t pay much, you’ve got yourself a reasonable bargain and you’ll have to decide how much to spend on service, a new crown and how you feel about the dial.

It's 14k gold.

If from a friend or charity, you owe them some coin. Movement parts alone are worth more than the 80$ potentially.
US market ( Morris Wadsworth case, G 65 model #) 14k bumper , assume not running, might be 10 times what you paid.
No historical or collector value, so I would make several collectors happy by parting out.
No harm in removing dial/movement from case and determining exact gold value but you will receive a premium over melt $ from hobbyists looking for parts!
Try selling as is for simplicity but the gold value is your floor.
Please don't melt this 70+ yr. old that so many are seeking to restore sentimental pieces!
Bracelet is trash.

Where exactly are these garage/boot sales ?
Glad you joined us.

It’s running. I was gonna put a new bracelet on it and wear it to be honest. It’s a great little watch

p.s.
If you love the watch, you can get it running again for several hundred$ and the value will be about the same as it is now.
If you plan to wear it, please have it cleaned and lubricated or you will damage valuable and hard to replace parts.
Think of an old car without an oil change, would you drive it?

I just read your post! Service the movement for a couple hundred, hopefully, and enjoy!

The gold case guarantees the value! The look is priceless!

And keep your eye out for a replacement original dial but in the meantime wear it in good health.
