    Hello everyone,
I have inherited an Omega Railmaster watch and on the back side it has the following information:

    17 Jewels
    Ω 286
    20170517
Can you please assist me to find out some details regarding this watch?
ie year of release, value, etc

    Thank you very much.

I don't know much about these, but I think it was worth more before it was serviced.

The serial number dates the movement to about 1964/1967.

This might be a Railmaster ref. 135.004.

Please check the caseback. The ref. # is stamped on the inside.

Do you have any further pictures?

Best I think to give you some basic info and then you can easily research on line

20170517 is the individual serial number of the watch movement. serial numbers beginning 20xxxxxx date the manufacture of movement to around 1963 but would have been installed into the case sometime afterwards so watch is probably 1964/5. (search omega serial numbers by year in google for more info)

286 indicates the calibre of the movement. You can search "omega cal 286" on line and get a whole host of info

Additionally inside the case back there should be another number possibly 135.004 and this this the watch model reference and with this you can search information on the model of railmaster you have.

Once you have that info and have researched yourself you can then look at previous auctions, condition etc. etc. and you may have some rough idea of value
