Vintage Omega watch / Could you tell me more about it?

Hello,

I got this watch from my grandfather and would like to know if it's a real deal or a copy. Haven't opened the back case and as you can see there is no text or logo on the backside. So I assume if there is something it's going to be inside of it.

He said that he maybe got it for his 40th birthday present from his father back in the day (now he's over 80 years old). So if anybody would give or have any ideas from these pictures about the watch, it would be really appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Looks like a great heirloom piece and it looks entire legit to me. FYI, it was already an old watch when your grandfather received it in the 1970s. The plain case-back is correct, but there will be more information inside. The back will pop off if you insert something sharp between the case-back and mid-case. If you look closely you will probably see a small notch somewhere around the edge. If you want to wear it, the watch should receive a service from a qualified watchmaker, since the oils will have dried up over time.

Update:
Watch is now in service. They looked the reference number and showed that the watch is from 1954 or 1955 without a specific ”model/name”, just an Omega. Thank you for the reply @Dan S !
