I’ve usually seen stainless steel hands go with a steel case, rose gold hands with rose gold case, and yellow gold with the like. Have these ever utilized different metals between hands and case?
Well I have these two steel cased 2471's, one of which has gold hands and gold arabics and the other has steel hands and are they silver arabics? I need to take a closer look....
Both gold and rhodium hands are legit for steel cases, but rhodium hands in precious metal cases are only legit for white gold, never for other precious metal cases. That's pretty much the rule for these moon phase models.
I have seen pink gold and yellow gold hands, applied numeral and/or markers on Cosmic SS models, as the dial variations included "luxury" dials. Not to forget that some had blackened hands too. Generally, I believe the rule applies to most if not all Omega watches of the period - same hands as dial furniture and an option for gold dial furniture etc., on stainless.
