Hi All I bought recently this vintage Omega speedmaster Ref.145.022 from the first owner here in switzerland and he assured me he never service the watch since the purchase but my questions is if the watch look original? and if the glass should have the Omega logo symbol?the logo is missed here on the glass......the Bracelet is correct for this reference?thanks for any Help. Amer
Most parts look original (though I cannot speak to the movement, though it retains its steel chrono brake). The 1171 could be original. The crystal should have the Omega logo, but it is possible that the crystal received some polish in the past that might affect it. If you look for it under a loupe it may appear.
I've got a number of older Speedmasters with worn-out logos; some are barely visible without magnification. Maybe there's some other process causing them to wear, but they do appear to, at least to my untrained eye.
They would only "wear" if someone polished the inside of the crystal. I've seen some that were faint certainly, but that was from the factory.
Would that be something that might have been done during a regular service long ago? Or for any other reason? Difficult to do but I'll give it a shot when I get home
no Omega Logo in the middle of the Glass , I put a strong light and looking with my loupe Saw now the logo still here but very very slight ...
Looks pretty original to me. 1171/633 bracelet can be original for this reference. Dial, hands, case all look pretty solid. I'd say you got a nice one.
It may be easier to capture at a sharp angle with lots of light bouncing off the dial. Looks like a nice dial.
Ah...another 29,636,xxx...400 away from mine. Let's see that dial in the sunlight!!! Glad to see it on a 1171...gives me hope for mine.
@ulackfocus / @Archer here are the photos I took - my 220 with a newish crystal and 105.012 with new crystal, both of which are visible to the naked eye and relatively easy to photograph: Versus my 105.003, which has an earlier crystal though perhaps not the original one fitted. It's very difficult to see with the naked eye and even more so with a phone camera: Under 15x magnification, it's still hard to get the light to catch it properly. Al, in your estimation, could this be due to some kind of strange under-crystal polishing, or maybe it was just produced that way?
Thanks Guys I appreciate your help, can someone tell me which Omega Box come original with this reference ?
To the OP: Amer, are you sure the logo isn't there? When I enlarge both of your first two photographs I'm getting a faint impression that the crystal has the logo on the underside. If you look immediately north of the spindle in the first photo there's a distinct curve that would appear to be in the correct location and scale for the upper part of the logo, if the crystal is oriented with the base at 10. Similarly, in the second photo it appears, again directly north of the spindle, this time partially obscured by the hour hand underneath. I may be mistaken but I would check it in daylight, with a loupe. Regardless, it's a lovely watch.
