Hey all. I have this watch and wondered whether I should sell it or will it increase in value. Any tips or ideas pls? Here are some details: Vintage Omega Speedmaster Professional Mark II 1970 Cal 861 Mens Wristwatch Brand: Omega Speedmaster Calibre: 861 Gender: Mens Case: Stainless Steel Strap: Stainless Steel Dial: Black Movement: Mechanical (Hand-winding) Function: Chronograph Date Case Diameter: 41mm Condition: Used - Very Good (age related scuff marks on clasp, case and also scratch on crystal at 5 hour mark - which does not affect visibility)
We all know the watch, errr, timepiece very well. Best way would be to watch "Sold" listings on ebay. This model has gone up over the last several years but not like the original Speedmaster. Not the same appeal to the moon / space crowd. The big '70s chronographs still are growing. If you are looking to get rich, though, this is not the model. $.02.
Really nice Mark II, congrats! If prices are going up or not, who knows? I see horology as a hobby, not as an investment, really. What I can say is that it took me over 10 months to find one exemplar in good state (similar to yours). Mark IIs with an unpolished case are getting rare, so if I was you, I would try to keep it.
