Dash1
·I have two of this sub-reference so one needs to go.
A real, untouched 'barn find' Speedmaster exactly as I found it (only the new leather strap has been added.)
Case ref: 145.022-76
Cal: 861
serial: 39.208.** Giving an estimated date of production of June 1977. Serial is bang on correct range for this sub-reference and only 20 digits away from my other -76.
Please study the photos and ask any questions you may have. Here are a few personal observations of mine:
The case is most likely unpolished showing sharp edges, brushed sides and plenty of minor marks and dings commensurate with age.
The bezel is correct and very good condition with only minor areas of missing paint.
The dial is very attractive in colour with original tritium and not relumed. I noticed some very small marks toward the centre hole when examining large size close-up photos but hadn't noticed them in use. Likewise the hands which have their original tritium except for the minute hand which is missing some lume.
Pushers and crown are all vintage originals I believe.
Case back is correct and in very good condition with no damage to threads etc..
Original dust cover is present (complete with old service sticker!)
Movement looks to be in super nice condition and relatively untouched. The watch keeps excellent time to within a few seconds a week(!) the Chronograph starts and stops okay, however the reset button is currently not working. This would almost certainly be a minor fix imo. A service would be highly recommended as last service is unknown.
Original crystal with early style Omega logo in centre. Has plenty of marks on it.
Strap is new leather, I have access to loads of strap types so if you prefer something else just ask.
In summary this is how I like to find old Speedmasters - unmolested and without lots of new parts. I suspect that all, or nearly all, the parts on the watch left the factory with it. After a trip to the spa it should look fantastic.
Please PM me if you can see any errors in the listing.
I am asking what I think is a very fair £2,900 (net) delivered.
