    Hi all I have the chance to buy a vintage omega it has the serial number on the movement its 17896608 the case number is 14726-2 SC its cal is 285 manual winding.it just has the word omega on the dial and a plain case back is this a fake.someone recently told me this isn't on usual on omega vintage watches

    That is exactly what a genuine Omega manual wind would have. Unfortunately, many fakes can be described the same way.

    So you either have a genuine piece or a fake.

    My advice is worth what you paid for it and is only as good as the information provided.

    From the information you have given, the watch may very well be correct but as others have said, we cannot advise you without pictures. Also the watch may be genuine but have serious problems which, again, we cannot tell you about without pictures.
