Hi All - I'm looking at purchasing a vintage watch for the first time and have landed on an Omega Seamaster. I'm very worried about paying for a fake (lived in China for a year and saw how good they could make them!). This is my first post, so any advice on these 2 watches would be appreciated, in addition to scouring the forums. Thanks! I wouldn't spend money on either of those watches. Thou not really a fake, since the parts was once manufactured buy Omega, the first one i a complete franken On top of that its heavily polished and have lost all definition on its edges, and the dial has been redone. Second one is a redial, and hands are replaced and not correct.
EDIT: Made a thread myself, sorry! https://omegaforums.net/threads/vintage-seamaster-with-flower-of-life-dial.68107/ Hope it's ok if I ask in here as I didn't want to make a whole new thread. Is this a real dial? I haven't seen one before myself.
Does the Philippines comment extend to all of Asia? That watch above is great! Though I am looking for slightly less expensive- not sure if that is possible with an Omega.
Any tropical country makes the inhabitants suffer a humid hot weather. Sweat-->damage to the dial, case and movement.
Would this be considered a re-dial? How can I tell? Seller does say it is a refurbished original dial.
This is the easiest way to tell: "Seller does say it is a refurbished original dial". This is the second easiest: https://omegaforums.net/threads/worst-redials.2304/
Indeed. Even to my noobster eyes, that movement features more colourful hues than our Christmas tree.
