Vintage OMEGA Seamaster. Is this a fake? If not, what should I be paying for it?

    Hi all, great forum.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this Omega I was offered to purchase is a fake, and what I should be paying?

I live in Indonesia, so fakes abound.

    Thanks in advance!

(I hope I've posted in the right forum now)

This is no Speedmaster but a Seamaster as can be read on the dial.

The watch is legit but the case is overly polished...

    Are those hands original?
If you are looking for a nice clean watch, keep looking.

Thanks for that! Changed the header.

The guy wants under 500USD for it.

I personally would not buy it at US$300, really not sure about the hands at all. If you keep looking something better can definitely be found, though this depends on how long and how hard you are prepared to look.

Case back may also be wrong, my 166.032 has calibre 751 . . .

First of all I should say, I am a NOOB and should know better than to try and reply to this post, but you can do an eBay search of Omega Seamaster 166 032 and see that these models regularly sell for less than $500 U.S. In fact better examples sell for under $400 I believe. I believe your hands are original, but do look beat up....maybe improperly cleaned, I don't know, just a guess. I also believe that the crown is wrong for this model, I believe it belongs on a 50's model Seamaster. I think the name for it is a clover crown. Now, I will sit back and let the real experts weigh in and will be very interested if I am in fact learning or if I am just plain wrong in my thoughts. I apologize to the OP if I have given any misinformation.

It’s certainly not a fake, but I’m with the majority in thinking those hands don’t look quite right somehow. The crown isn’t right either, and without an end on view, can’t confirm if it’s even Omega. I’ve got a feeling it’s missing a case clamp ( four o’clock in the movement shot) too.
Not a bad example but a bit overpriced with the niggles it’s got.
