Okay, one last try! Selling an excellent condition, all original, 1972 Omega Seamaster Chronograph "Big Blue," ref 176.004 from my personal collection. This is a stunning watch that needs no introduction, it is Omega's first automatic chronograph dive watch that comes from an era when watches were produced by engineers having to solve specific issues or trying to create an instrument that would help the right people at the right job.

This is a BIG watch, weighing at a whopping 176 grams, measuring 44mm in width, excluding the crown; 52mm in length; and 16mm thick, with a 22mm lug size. The cal 1040 automatic movement is working great and running strong, keeps accurate time. The 1162 bracelet looks to be full size and in excellent condition as well. I didn't open the case to take pictures of the movement but can do so upon request from serious buyers. The watch comes with original vintage Omega.

If you appreciate Omegas and dive watches, don't miss out on having this rare, collectible piece in your collection.

Buy with confidence, I am not a very active member but have been verified by the moderators to sell on the forum. I accept bank wires only, I will pay shipping with insurance. Please let me know if you have any questions.

    USD $6,500 firm.

Do you know whether the lume of the dial and hands are tritium (OEM) or luminova (service)?

I don't think the Big Blue came with tritium on the dial as there are no "Ts" outside of "SWISS MADE." So it must have come originally with some other luminous material.

Both the tritium and luminova dials say “SWISS MADE” on this reference.

I tested the lume under a black light, it glows nicely and evenly (dial, hands, and bezel) but you can immediately see the lume begin to lose its glow within a short while (although not completely). If it were a modern luminova dial the lume would shine brighter and longer. I can post a picture of the lume if you're interested.

"needs no introduction,"? It certainly does need an introduction to Omega novices like me. Who wouldn't want a watch like that?
