    Hi guys

What's your opinion. Is this dial patina, or a dial in disrepair.

    Looking forward to your responses.

    Cheers

    Dan

To me if it is even and symmetrical and not too obvious - patina. Otherwise it's simply water damage and I can't stand it.

The older a watch gets, the more a patina is accepted. Today patina on a 30ies and a 40ies dial watch is well accepted.

On a 50ies watch you look for a pristine dial, but can accept a dial with a desirable or nice looking patina.

On a 60ies watch, nothing is today collectible that has not a mint dial

    Tomorrow that has changed

This one has un-simetrical stains and not desirable for me; in the process of getting it either replaced or restored

Depends entirely on if you find it attractive or not. I don't, so it would be a pass for me.

Patina, like art, is in the eye of the beholder.

I think it looks great. Others here don’t. If it appeals to you wear it and enjoy staring at it for hours without noticing what the time is ;-)

Patina can be very nice. Like your sunburst or my coppered one :)
