Hi guys, I would appreciate your advice/feedback for this watch that I found. In my opinion, it's all original except strap and buckle. Here are some characteristics : Circa: 1966 Model: Seamaster De Ville Caliber: 550 Movement serial #: 24198908 Jewel count: 17 jewels Movement type: Automatic wind Case model: LL 6287-1 (335299) Case material: 14k Gold filled Case gasket: Does not take a gasket Crystal: Acyrlic New crystal Crown: Signed Case Diameter excluding crown: 34mm Case lenght lug tip to lug tip: 40.5mm Dial: Factory original finish Hand type: Index (original) Thanks a lot in advance for your input!
I forgot to mention the price (USD 1650). Is it worth it ? Please feel free to give any advice to a newbie like me Lud
The dial looks to be original but better pics would help to be certain. Is that dial damage at the 27 minute marker? The case looks decent and everything about the watch appears original. Price is way too high at $1650.
There is dial damage at many points. If this were a solid gold watch it still would not be worth the price.
If you take your time and look around a bit, I'm convinced that for US $1,650 you can buy two nicer watches that match your taste.
I find it quite charming, even taking the dial degradation and case wear into account. Unfortunately the price point is for me about 2.5x too high. At $600-$700 I'd say it would be decent value, but above that it starts to look expensive for what it is.
I'm no expert but, I do think the black dialed Seamasters do command a higher price. How much more, I can't answer that.
