Hello- New member here. Have been lurking this site forever, and I'd like to thank you all up front for sharing so much knowledge and creating a space free of creeps and cons.

I have considered putting this watch up on everybody's favorite auction site, but the fees have recently gotten to be insane, and in my 14 years of buying and selling there, it seems to have become more of a cesspool than it ever was.

Thought I'd give a try here. I realize this is my first post, and I'd very much not like to step on any toes, so please feel free to advise.

In any case, here goes.

I purchased this from my local AD, Alex Watchworks, here in Portland, Oregon, about 6 months ago. He received it in trade from the original purchaser. It underwent a complete service, and keeps time perfectly. I asked that they specifically not polish the watch, as it was, and is, in astounding condition for its age.

the watch has typical scratches and wear. The worst of it is a small pit on the lower crown-side lug. I tried to photograph it but it is difficult to capture. There are a number of small scratches on the caseback, including some from what looks like a slipped tool. They were there when I originally inspected the watch pre-service, and are in no way indicative of the the quality of work that comes out of Alex.

The crystal has a few small swirls and one bigger mark at 2 o'clock. Easily polished out I'm sure. The crystal is unsigned.

The dial is very good. Pinholes in the lume at 6 and 12. Beautifully faded, with matching hands. There are two spots of lost lume in the hour hand which I gather is fairly common.

There are a few hairline cracks in the bakelite bezel. Again, original. Bi-directional bezel is tight and rotates as it should.

No box or papers. I will include the limited edition Analog/Shift Nato strap pictured.

I overpaid for this watch. Maybe. Probably my only chance to own this iconic piece in one-owner condition, so I sprung for it.

Turns out I don't wear it, and have eyes for something else, as always. I don't want to take a huge hit on it, so am listing it at my original purchase

price of $4000 USD net to me.

I may entertain friendly, realistic offers, but am in no way desperate to sell.

paypal is cool if you pick up the fees. We are both protected in that way. Fedex insured will be included in the CONUS. Overseas buyers will pay actual shipping and insurance.

Please don't hesitate to contact me via email [email protected] (this is not my paypal email) or call or text to 503-473-4359.

Thanks. Abe.

Forgot to mention in the original post that the serial number dates this to 1967.

I know I'm asking top of the market here fellas. Offers gladly considered. Interesting trades +/- cash as well.
