Hello yesterday i picked up this Omega Seamaster 300 ( 165.024 )
I examined it before i decided to buy it , i guess it looks ok except that the case is well worned. Speciell on the backside. It was hard to get the contrast of the hippocampus. The only thing i was thinking of was that the silver inner bezel ring covers almost the whole text " T swiss made T " thats written under the "6" i have seen many pictures where the text is much more visible. The grinding of the glass does some trix when trying to take pictures, but on this watch the ring clearly covers almost the whole text. Is the inner bezel ring maybe not original ? Or why is some text visible and some almost covered. Is there something else i maybe missed or does not look ok ?
The watch has not been cleaned and there are dust spots on the dial. The glass not polished , has the Omega logo in the center (not visible on the pictures ) Excuse me for reflections from lights and phone

To be honest I cant find a single picture on google where the text isnt significantly obscured, including some quite highly detailed shots such as this: 53ed7b2ea4faaeb4c2de0dd43f3f598b2be30566.jpg

I think the crystal is not correct.
Ok sounds great , in my opinion the glass is the least problem on this watch when it comes to find parts.
Probably the simplest and cheapest part on this ref to.

Thanks

I have a 'watchco' 165024 so my crystal is a service part but the profile is completely different, it's less angular and goes to the very edge of the bezel, unlike the gap on your watch.

I wonder if this is causing the text to be distorted?

genuine replacement;

ok nice !
I will fix the genuine one and change at the same time as the watchmovement is served
Thanks for the info !

Look forward to seeing it when finished - I also have a spare caseback if you're interested... though you'll have to wait for me to hit 200 posts 😲
