Another victim of collection consolidation is up for grabs. This is a pleasant 1961 Seamaster 14700 with 14k GF.

The 14700 is 34mm in diameter with an 18mm lug width. Its lugs are slender and angular, but integrate seamlessly with the main case's curves, giving the watch an elegant but distinct profile. It’s similar to the style of lug used for the Zenith A386, nearly a decade after this Seamaster's introduction.

Make no mistake, the design is a huge reason why I love this watch, and it may well be the case why you will too.

Dial: The dial has patinated over time, and sections of the lacquer have aged into an amber-like glaze. All original printing is present, with no minute markers missing. The ‘coathanger S’ version of the Seamaster script is original and period-correct. The lapped gold indices have onyx inserts inlaid into them. The Omega logo is applied and original.

Crystal: Original vintage Omega crystal with the period-correct 'flat foot' logo and gold tension ring. It does have cracks and could either be replaced by a generic or service part.

Case: The 14700 'Centrale Boîtes' case is in fair condition, having been polished in the past. The original contours are present but show some softness. Unlike many others of this case design, the watch does not have corrosion behind the strap channels. There are surface scratches, dings, and wear on the GF present.

The watch will come with an aftermarket sapphire exhibition caseback installed; the original 14700 caseback as shown will be included.

Crown: Omega service replacement scalloped crown. There is no wearing of the gold layer.

Movement: The movement is a serviced 552 that is running well, and keeps time exceptionally well. All functions are working, and the amplitude was about 265 last I checked. The caliber is a pretty piece, with all-original bridges and its original oscillating rotor. There are light scratches, as the watch was found with its automatic bridge uncoupled from the movement, but there is no rotor rub.

Price: Asking $385 shipped CONUS, Paypal F&F, Zelle, Venmo, or Bank Wire accepted. Watch head only. Message me for international shipping. Please no returns unless terribly misrepresented.

Don't have any OF references that I'm aware of but I've been around for 5 years now, and am a pretty active member of the community.

Thanks to OF for the space!

A classic Omega for the cost of the service. This should be gone in no time. 😀
