Hi,
As i mentioned in title i have vintage Omega Neptun "Trident" from 1940. I was wondering if someone has any more info about this early model? And approx how much is it worth now. Are they rare with this trident hand ?

I've manage to check the serial number from omega archive and i found out that watch was made for U.S market.
It runs normally and the glass was replaced ( but i still have the original one )

Thankful for any help in advance.

Looks like it tells the time in three time-zones at the same time...I am sorry, I don't have anything useful to add to the conversation.

Looks like a redial to me. Omega logo off centre and too close to the the 12. The numerals on the right hand side of the dial look closer to the minute track then the left one but this could be just an illusion. Can't see any Swiss made at the bottom.

If my suspicions are right then this will affect the value.

Wow! Seems you have watch was serviced by Omega authorized dealer or some sort of Omega affiliated watchmaker (handwrite notes in French, plastic bag...)

If so your timepiece is secured on wrist for several years to come.

Sorry I can't comment on value since I am new in vintage watch world. But I would take this for granted:
The movement has some value.

Yeah actually the story is that my friend had some omega certification in Biel and i asked him to get me some info about the watch. And some guy from omegas Vintage section chagned the glass for me and got me the info from the archive. He didn't mentioned anything about the dial being remade or anything so im a bit sceptical about it. But my friend also told me that in those times the logos on dial were hand printed with somekind of process and misalign could happen. But yeah didnt get any info about how much is it worth and etc. So im trying to figure that out and sell it because i cant wear it it is not my style and i would like to buy some vintage cartier santos galbee

The notes say that the case reference is 2173. Here is listing from Omega Vintage Database:

https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-medicus-oj-2173

The Omega site shows a watch with a center seconds movement, which was considered a more expensive complication in 1940. It could very well be that the same early water resistant case was used for both movements. The hands are certainly correct.

I have to agree the the dial was likely refinished many years ago. But for this model, the value is in the hands. You will likely never be able to replace those.

the note says 2143 not 2173, at least to my eye

kinda crazy that 2173 archives pic happens to have similar hour hand?

but anyhow omega makes very much of the medicus as their first wrist watch with sweep hand, so it can’t be a medicus

Its a redial- the movement is cal r17.8.
It's worth whatever someone will pay for the parts (except the dial- that's not worth too much)
Still a cool little watch.

I’m going with re-dial also

Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the inner caseback
