    Hello everyone,

just bought a unidentified Omega today in the heat of the moment so to say and I didn't do my homework before the purchase. I am afraid that the dial and hands are not original. I looked at a lot of photos but couldn't identify the watch. Please advise me on the piece.

    Thank you,
    Kris

Open the caseback. A SN should be engraved on the inner side of it. If not it's a bad sign. Accoding to your pics it has been redialed and not very finely...

I find it odd that of the several Omegas with the hourglass markers that I have seen, everyone has been a redial. I would love to see one that hasn't been.

Omega looks to have been written with a sharpie.

I ended up returning the watch. Even though I got it for almost gold price (460 USD) I was not sure that it was a real omega housing or that it was gold. The watch was stamped "W 14K Gold" on the outside.

I bough another one recently and I would like to ask you if you think that it is condition 2 or 3. The dial has a tiny scratch and the case a few big ones, it runs but it needs servicing. I got it for 800 USD, my first omega, so not sure about the value.

Well it's a nice watch. The price is not too high for a 14k gold watch. casn you tell if the "swiss made" logo is hidden or if it's just the pic?

The text is barely visible which I also find strange.

may be just the worng crystal that hides the text, like a ringed one. Anothe thing but not to serious, for a 565 the swan neck is not correct. It should have a rounded end. Don't get sick for that, it's not really awful. what is more strange is that the micro adjustement screw is missing.

You should get a watchmaker to have a look at your regulator, it's not all there.

Compare the two pictures and tell me what's missing (yours is first).

I just hope the screw is not broken and the rest still in. If not that's not a big deal.

I don't have the tool to open it. I will send it in for repair and get a new screw and neck myself. Do you know where can I find the part number and a place where I can order it?

    Good that you noticed it!

I am also after a solid gold or gold filled original buckle for it.

Yes, I think they came with 16mm or 14mm ones originally.
