hi i have never gotten an omega and ive been searching for omegas for a few weeks for now, and there is one watch i stumbled upon. however i can't find this watch ANYWHERE online and i was wondering if this is some fake watch or what because from what i got from the seller he says it is a discontinued model and i can not find it anywhere at all.

    Well he's not wrong...

To my untrained eye I think it's one of those Geneves with the cal 10xx on it. Hopefully a more experienced member will shed more light.

Also you need to have caseback pictures, it makes everyone's lives easier that way.

Quite genuine but the worst example of plate wear I have seen. Any reason you want this particular watch? If it was. I would look for another example.

Oh I see. HAHAHA, the reason might be kinda bad because I just have this thing for vintage pieces that are not common and stuff like that. I get attracted to things that put limited or rare or such words in it. Bad habit but idk if this is worth it for around 300 usd

At that price I would look for another example.

There are plenty of vintage Omega models you can get under 500US. This isn't a sought after model and is in poor condition.
    I wouldn't buy it for 100.

Noted with thanks! May I know what are the kinds of models that are sought after?

    How long have you got?

It's best to look yourself and decide what appeals to you. The WRUW thread is a good start.

As in there's a huge amount. Most references from the 40's to the 60's plus a good number from the 70's.
You really need to narrow down your personal preference first.

Ahhh I see, honestly I haven't reached to narrowing down my personal preferences yet HAHA, been just looking at watches and seeing what catches my eyes. I'll try to narrow down my personal preference while digging around in ebay

Seamasters in their dress and dive variants, Constellations, the 260 and 280 family in their various incarnations. Probably best to forget about Speedmasters for the foreseeable future.
