I have been looking for a vintage Omega with a Blue Dial and this one sure looks nice to my untrained eye
Thought it would make sense to get the opinion of those who know much more than I do on this topic
Look original? Not a redial? Not some sort of fake?
Thanks!

Well it's definitely not some sort of fake. Dial wise I will let the experts chime in but it sure looks purdy!

The fact that the strap is fake does not bode well for the originality of the watch.

Also, the rotor seems heavily worn, there’s something wrong there with the movement. The comment of @Dan S would also make me worry and the fact that there’s chrono24 written on the pictures probably leads to a relatively hefty price tag?

I’ve never seen one of that reference, with that dial color, that I knew was legitimate.

I haven’t made a study of that reference, but I see a lot of late 60’s and 70’s Omegas in my searches. It seems that eBay has a lot of similar pieces with improbable dial colors. All of them are mint, some sellers admit that their dials are ‘refinished’. Some come from the UK and some from the Far East.

So, I don’t believe this watch.

Where did you find it?

Lume on hands but not the dial?

Lumed hands with no lume on the dial are a thing, the converse would be an issue.

I just realized the case back is for a gold plated watch, I vote that the watch is a piece of shit.

Yeah, I know it's possible in some cases, but I always scrutinize the watch when I see lumed hands and a no-lume, since it's not so common.

But the dial is pretty. 🙄

Found it on chrono24
Are you saying that any Omega from this time period with a Blue Dial is more than likely a fake?

No. It’s more complicated.

There’s no substitute for doing your own research. This is not my area of specialty. I haven’t ever seen a genuine one of this reference that had a blue dial like that, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any.

I’m saying I wouldn’t buy this watch because I don’t believe the dial, for the reasons I’ve already stated.

if you want a blue dialed omega from this era, you’re going to have to spend some time studying, because recolored dials are becoming very, very common. And, I might not trust a private seller to even know whether what they’re trying to sell is correct.

I’ve got a new old stock one of these. Original strap, buckle and even the hang tags. I never wear it, it’s actually in for a service now.

That should be a different ref, though, which makes all the difference. I’ve seen multiple of blue dialed Genèves with these “cut off” white hands and these indices, 136.0104 would be the ref of the hand-wound equivalent.

But as @airansun said: He has never seen a genuine one with that reference, neither have I.

It is a really beauty, though, your blue dial Genève, congrats! 😀

Really? An Omega thing? I thought that was a no-no too. Can you give an example of an Omega with lumed hands but none on the dial that’s accepted as legit? I always thought it was all or nothing with lume, on Omegas at least.

I totally agree that the reverse, lume on the dial but none on the hands doesn't make a lick of sense so is deffo a red flag.

I thought c-case Connie's could generally have lume only on the hands. It definitely makes sense compared to the reverse because how can you tell time if you can't see the hands?

As for the watch at hand, very obvious Korean redial. @pnyankee, the big difference between the watch you posted and @Robbyman's example is the soleil finish on the dial. Modern redials never have it and vintage Omegas almost never have the glossy paint look of the redial.
