I’m planning to buy an Omega automatic 1970 solid gold 18k, cal. 552 for 800€.
Fm the photos can you help me out with a decision( if it is genuine Omega and worth the money)

I'm not a specialist on this Geneves but "Swiss Made" looks wrong, lettering is too fat.

Here another one for comparison (hope this is genuine):



"Omega" also looks wrong, would pass it for shure!

Google the reference number and compare the ones you find on the internet with the one you posted!

EDIT: I think it is a repainted dial; reference number is 161.037; one of the lugs seems bent

 

Thx a lot for details, I’ll try to find more on internet and I will ask the dealer if he knows about any repairs on the lugs!

 

Main problem here is the dial and not the lug!

If it is repainted you better forget about this watch!!!

You won't be happy with it in the future, look how elegant the one for comparison looks!

 

The dial is 100% refinished.

Thx for your advice, I actually didn’t observe that the dial is repainted... so asking you guys was the best thing done today!

 

Plenty of watches out there, keep looking and asking here

 

My final decision is to pass this watch... thank y’all for advices! ... still for an 70’s clasic Omega
