    hi all-
Would this be an appropriate place to ask questions about an Omega Automatic Constellation man's watch? I don't want to offend anyone since I am not a collector. My grandfather's watch has been left to me and I'm trying to determine value. Will post details of allowed. Thanks for the input.

Thank you! The end of the clasp is stamped 355 and some sort of symbol that looks like a rabbit or something... Idk if it's gold, gold plated, or something else but a magnet does not stick to it. The watch winds and you can set the time but it is not currently running. Any ideas?

Although you'll still get great advice, depending on how old the watch is, try the vintage section.

Funnily enough, my grandfather left me a Constellation (although a Quartz) and I managed to find out a fair bit of info thanks to the knowledgeable folks on this forum. Good luck.

I also posted this accidentally in Modern Omegas:
Looking for info on this vintage gold mens watch: marked 355 on clasp and something else that kind of looks like a rabbit. Not sure if band is gold, gold plated etc but a magnet will not stick to it. You can wind and set time but it is not currently running.
    Any info appreciated. Thanks!

9 karat gold would be .375 and the rabbit would be correct for this.

Dial has been rather poorly refinished.

    Probably contains a caliber 711 24-jewel movement, late 1960s to mid 1970s.

These were offered in a wide variety of styles with and without integrated bracelets.

If you gently pry the back off to view the movement and markings inside the back more relevant information will be found there.

I took it to a jeweler today and they said its a 14k band, they did an acid test on it... I assume the watch face itself isn't worth much?

    .585 with a squirrel would be 14k.

In order to give you any additional information we will need to see the inside of the watch, movement and case back.

Hi again. Here's the inside... Keep in mind the the band says 355B not 375 and I'm thinking it is a squirrel, not a rabbit?

Markings inside the case back indicate the case is 18K gold, unfortunately at some point the original movement has been replaced with an incorrect quartz item.

Only worth the gold melt value.
