recently bought this watch and what I believed the dial's original but it wouldn't pass the MOY test. The cross-hair line(south-north)doesn't go through the center of the O in CHRONOMETRE and is far from barely missing the Y in OFFICIALLY. does it mean that dial is not original or is it an exception to the general rule? tech. data serial#14927239;ref#2782-10SC;cal.354 I'd love to hear your opinion. thx.
if that one is fake then this one is also: http://omegaforums.net/threads/ref-2782-cal-354-from-1955.1471/ on the other hand this one from christies obeys the rule http://blogs.christies.com/longitude/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/constellation1952.jpeg
Does it say "Swiss" or "Swiss Made" at the bottom of the dial? It's very small and easily hidden by the trim ring on the crystal. If so, then I would vote original. I've yet to see a redial on these (and to have this kind of patina, it would have to be very old) that has the level of detail that this dial has. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
Looks original to me. I see the two lower case "n"s in Constellation are the correct different shapes. Don't see anything that would hint of a redial at all.

+1 Original, a nice patina on one of my most favorite Connie. I call it tangerine patina Crystal shouldn't be too hard to be replaced with the correct one.
Nice dial. Here's one I made earlier! (picture courtesy of Kyle) Edit: I agree with Kyle that something looks different about the bezel.
As stated, the watch is fine except for the incorrect replacement bezel, which is too small and the wrong shape.
thank you for your comments and now I see that you're absolutely right about the bezel!!!! I think it's next to impossible to get an original one(?) but still like this watch and want to keep it(runs great and looks even better) kind regards peter
I think the only way to get another would be to find a non running Ref. 2782 on eBay. But with the price of even crappy Omegas rising the last few years, even that is getting rather expensive for just a bezel. gatorcpa
Hey there! Define "made" please I have seen a lot of these 2782 ref dials that have strong patina on the central portion, but not on the outer circumference (where the markers are). Thanks! -Albert
Because that's where the thickest layers of lacquer are. Here's another (non-Omega) example: Hope this helps, gatorcpa
