Hi everybody.
My passion for watches is quite recent and now i'd like to buy a vintage Omega Constellation, but i'm not sure about it's authenticity. Would any of you be kind enough to help me? Do you see any tell that it could be fake?

Thanks a lot

Hi Caldeira,

welcome here on the Forum!

IMO the dial is in original conditon, glass is scratched and the crown is wrong.

Case has some wear but could be OK

From this one picture it is impossible to come to a conclusion, more pictures are needed, especially from the movement.

Do you more pictures? Post them here.

What is the asking price?

Good luck!

Honestly, I noticed the crown and that it doesn't have the "swiss made" inscription, but i don't know if all the models have it. . But, although i've been reading about it, my knowledge is close to zero.

Swiss made is there but you can not see it because of the angle of the picture.

I thought he said 450us that would be great and leave you some room get the original crown. But it would be good to have a movement shot. Not all these sellers can open the case but at least you could see if it’s relatively clean and look for any red flags

Sorry but most of the pictures doesn't take us much further.

The picture of the backside supports my guess that the case is in rather good condition, medallion looks crisp.

Old stylde watchband and the original buckle could be sign that this watch hasn't been worn too much and is in unmolested condition.
Wrong crown speaks for the opposite

Is it in running condition?

If you get no movement shot you can do two things:

1. Pass it

2. Gamble a bit and try to get it for a good price (not knowing what will be inside)

Thank you all for your help. Maybe i'll do the second and gamble a bit. I'll see if i can get it for a good price, and then maybe i can get the original crown if the watch is on good condition. It is in running condition, and it's a beautiful watch, even though it's a bit worn

Don't forget to keep some money in your pocket to get it serviced / repaired if you go for it...

Here is pic of mine for reference albeit without the onyx inlay in the batons and hands and no date.

But at least your hands match the batons and seem to be of correct length

Missing the Officially Certified and Swiss Made markings which is usually present

There are some constellation watches that don't have the officially certified marking

That is correct and I think this watch is a 14902.

Here’s mine 14393 61. Issued Oct 1962. I think there was a 2 year period when dial didn’t have Off Cert but my extract showed watch delivered with Bulletin!
Watch should have bevelled bezel too with small 10 sided crown. Mine is original to watch.

I have a pretty good feeling about this one. The seller just doesn't know how to take photos and hasn't bothered to clean up the crystal.

Here’s mine 14393 61. Issued Oct 1962. I think there was approx 4 year period when dial didn’t have Off Cert but my extract showed watch delivered with Bulletin!
Watch should have bevelled bezel too with small 10 sided crown. Mine is original to watch.

FIFY regarding the missing text period. Approx ‘58-‘62

Nice watch you have but apart from the crown, the design references for the 14381/14393 (such as the bezel) don’t follow through for the dogleg.

I bought the watch for 520 euros (+/- 575 dollars). I hope I won't regret it. I'll post more pictures as soon as I have it with me.
Thank you all for your help.
