I recently purchased this omega and am about to send it off to be serviced but I was wondering a few things:
Does the star on the inside of the case back mean anything? How accurate/ desirable is the cal 266 movement? And what would be the estimated value?(I know its hard to see the condition in pictures but there are very little postings on eBay and other sales websites.) Also, there are a few dark spots on the dial, is there any way for a watchmaker to clean these off or is it better to leave it as it is?

Just a makers’ mark for the case.

    Accurate and collectible.

There have been many sales of this reference on this forum and on eBay. It’s not rare.

The watchmaker should only brush off the surface. Maybe a little sticky stuff on the spots. Nothing more.

    Hope this helps,

Very nice 2639. I would not touch or clean dial, it's so pretty

IMHO a simple, natural colour leather strap could be perfect

Lovely watch and dial. The patina looks even and I certainly wouldn't bother trying to clean it!

A brown/dark brown leather strap with a bit of texture will match the watch nicely :)

What the others said about the dial, it's a beautiful honey colour. BTW don't send it to Omega - there are dozens of threads on here explaining why not.

The value depends on what country you are in. In the UK I would say about £275-300.
