Heuer Bund . Sits at 42mm. Might actually sell this but I just found out I needed 200 posts on of to make the post. So... eventually I will. EDIT: If you haven't heard of them, here's some background! They're very cool watches. https://www.fratellowatches.com/tbt-leonidas-heuer-bund-chronographs/ EDIT2: Also check out the Benrus Type I and Type II. They may be of interest. I don't have one but I believe they are also a little bigger (43mm if I remember?)
Here are a few that come to mind. There are a couple model |Tudor submariners that were used for the Canadian military. A Rolex 5517, Omega ha-60 and ha-64 chronograph, They also have similar watches from Breitling, Lemania and I believe Gallet. Seamaster 300 divers, Breitling Navitimer used for the Iraq and the U.S military. I believe These are all 39mm or larger.
Another really cool watch I have wanted is the Dodane Type 21, which I think sits at ~ 38mm. If you're really into these watches, you might find this book interesting! https://www.amazon.com/British-Military-Timepieces-Konrad-Knirim/dp/389355260X
CP-1, CP-2, Type XX, Type 21, chronos derived from Lemania 5100 chronos, Rolex Sub, Tudor Sum, Omega SM 300 and probably lots more. Do google searches and see what you like.
You know, I was speaking with someone a couple days ago about this but it's funny that people regard the Lemania 5100 so highly, especially in the Sinn circles - from what I have heard (in conversation with other watchmakers and collectors more knowledgeable than I), this specific movement is not really robust/built to be long lasting. It is really cool (especially in my EZM1 ) but I'm not so sure it is worthy of all the praise some people give it. Maybe I'm just missing something, though. Either way, the watches you've listed are all really cool
Zenith Cairelli, Universal Geneve Cairelli, Universal Geneve Rattrapante, Breitling 817, Longines 13zn(Romania Army - 37,5mm version)
I believe this one is a 230! EDIT: The flyback feature is really cool though, none of my other watches have it so it's always fun to play with it haha
Very Nice! I myself wasn't a big fan of the Lemania 5100, Didn't like the plastic parts that they used. As a chronograph lover I think it is cool to have as many chronographs with different movements as possible.
Yes, I agree. I had to have one Lemania 5100 in my collection and for me that was the Sinn EZM1 (Had the choice between that and the 156 but the EZM1 design is just jaw dropping to me). EDIT: Of course, here is a photo of the EZM1 .
The fly back feature is a pretty cool feature. I was looking at the Lange & Sohne with the fly back feature.... absolutely beautiful watches.
All the German Fligers are that size. Up to 55mm I think. I can give you links to modern re issues from the original makers. https://www.stowa.de/en/Flieger/ https://shop.laco.de/en/Fliegeruhren-A.html Or go down the rabbit hole of a real one from WWII.
Don't forget the Lemania chronos at 38mm+. You have a plethora of options - British, India, Indonesia, Swiss, South African, and Israeli (am I missing any country?)
Refering to Lemania dialed/branded I would add these countries; Australia, Germany, and Sweden. Other possibilities Canada, Italy, New Zealand others? I'm interested in reading about Indonesian and Swiss example can help with a link or photos Cheers Pat
