I recently got this vintage Marc Nicolet diver that has some similarity with the Blancpain Aqualung. The watch case looks identical and also the bakelite bezel with no minute marker. Watch diameter is 35mm. A pretty watch in the metal. Anyone familiar with this brand?

I don't know the brand's history, but I've seen quite a few of these, as well as other vintage divers, in local UK auctions. They generally go pretty cheap and seem like a good value.

The best known of Marc Nicolet watches are the Nicolet Watch and Armand Nicolet: surname identical is not a coincidence because Marc was one of the Armand Nicolet children, and opened his fashion house always in Tramelan, in the canton of Bern. :)

I fully agree that its a good value for money watch. Even the wife likes the look of it and wore it going to church today.:)
