Hey there OF!, I'm being offered this vintage Longines with a 6 million movement serial, meaning ca. 1940 with a 12.68 movement (?) Could anyone give me their opinion on it any its possible value? I like the dial and doesn't seem to be redone, but I could be mistaken, also the movement is missing the mounting screws (view picture) which is never a good sign. What do the experts think? Regards!!
Movement is a 12.68Z. It would be interesting to see the inside of the case-back to know more (e.g. Swiss?, gold-plated?). Dial looks original based on a number of factors, though the hour numerals are an uncommon style. Missing case-screws are common and not worrisome in isolation. Reminds me of this one, which sold for $550 USD earlier this year (see link below): https://omegaforums.net/threads/help-with-vintage-longines-circa-1941.76489/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Lo...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Bottom right lug suggests that the case is gold-plated. Interesting that the back on this one is plated whereas it is steel on the other one.
Sorry for the non response. I got a great and helpful response from @DirtyDozen12 and I didn't think there was a lot more to talk about, it was an impulse thing, sorry. . Thanks @dsio and @Nathan1967 I think this is the way it should be.
