I need some help in finding out a bit more about a beautiful Longines gold dress watch that I own.

I was left this by my grandfather when he passed away, and would like to know more about it!

Could anyone help identify it’s age and tell me a little more about it?

I have added a couple of photos which will hopefully help!

    thanks :)

Good looking watch @Grunka-lunka. I’d say early to mid 50’s, probably a 12.68z or a 23m movement. If you have a watch maker pop the case back off, we’ll have substantially more to work with.

Yes, I will get it to a watchmaker soon. It’s due a service.

It’s about 6-8mm smaller than I would normally wear. It’s lovely at a ‘do’ (remember them!?), and certainly not for everyday wear.

I’m a fan of Longines as a brand and my first ever diver was a Hydroconquest - which is what created the desire for a Seamaster..... which lead me here!
