I fell for this watch the minute I saw it many years before it was re-issued.

Perhaps one of the nicest of the large supercompressors made in the Sixties -- although my favourite is a different one.
I suspect that this one was actually the first to use the 42mm case. LonginesDiverC-U_2.jpg LonginesDiver_1 copy.jpg LonginesDiver2 copy.jpg

Superb. It may not be your favorite large supercompressor of the 1960s, but it's mine.

I don't have the watch to hand so can't check to be sure. However it is the 7150 ref ( there were several refs for this watch), which according to Goldberger makes it a 290 - next time I have it to hand I'll check for sure. Do you prefer one movement to the other?

Well Lou, I didn't mean it quite the way it sounded, as I do love this watch and enjoy wearing it immensley. However I lucked into
it many years ago, before I was really into Longines. Whereas the other one became a grail watch for me and so took on a different meaning when I finally got it.

Now that's for sure Matt :).

Some lovely pictures of two beautiful divers. Cheers.

A few others have answered this question. There are many brands who used the two crown configuration, mostly in the 36/38mm size. They're a lovely style to collect. However from memory only a handful made it in the large 42mm case. The other well known ones being UG and JLC, I think Droz and Bulova made one as well. Enicar may have made a larger one, not sure, but they certainly made some very cool ones as well.

A nice thread here on them.

The 290 for sure. While the 19AS was prettier, the 29x series had a better design.

Nice Longine's use to own a Wittnauer compressor dual crown the dial on it was so close to the Longines compressor and I found out later Wittnauer was owned by Longines how wonder the dials had about the same look.

There's a Wittnauer sc on eBay now (or at least there was recently).
