    Hi all

    This has been languishing in my desk draw for months can any one tell me what style of strap its called 14mm width at the smallest part

    This is a early watch strap for wire lug watches that us collectors call wristlets from the early 1900's these watches were the beginning of the wristwatches we know today that brought the end of the pocket watch.

    A few out of the collection with remade straps with the vintage style.

    I’ve seen this referred to as a ‘pershing’ strap, out of which supposedly the military aviation ‘bund’ strap was developed.

    Don’t know any of this for a fact, so I might be prolonging some internet myth here. Still, maybe it’s a stepping stone for research (...or for a comment from someone who actually knows his stuff ;))

    See the Elgin I posted see the Dial on it they came in Black and White they are called Pershing dials so maybe you were thinking about that those type of straps were never called that.

    Its similar to "bund" type straps, isn't it?

    Mite of been were they got the idea for the Bund style straps.

    I have ordered a couple straps from Dave at vintagewatchstraps, and tons of helpful information are on his site if one wants to know more about pretty much anything vintage watches related.
