Hi! I have a few questions on a watch I bought my wife in 2011 - before I read through this forum :(

She loves the watch and that is enough for me… she will be getting others to add to her collection :)

    Details:
    • Movement: 244
    • Case Reference: 3905-11
    • Serial on movement: 14025553
    • Purchased: Dec 2011
    • Serviced: estimated 2011

I may be using the site incorrectly, but the Omega Heritage site did not list the case reference…

    Questions:

    1. Model Identification
    2. When was it produced (approx fine)
    3. The dial looks refinished… can anyone confirm what it would have looked like originally?
    4. Would the watch originally have had a signed crown?
    5. Advice on servicing & maintenance
    6. Restoration… what would it take?
    7. Ballpark valuation - for insurance?

    Thanks!!!

    1. Model Identification

Model would be the Case Reference: 3905, these didn't have any model name.

    2. When was it produced (approx fine)

Serial number gives an approximate manufacture date of 1954.

    3. The dial looks refinished… can anyone confirm what it would have looked like originally?

Dial would most likely have been silver.

    4. Would the watch originally have had a signed crown?

    Yes.

    5. Advice on servicing & maintenance

Find a reputable local watchmaker, service every 3-5 years.

    6. Restoration… what would it take?

    Leave it as is.

    7. Ballpark valuation - for insurance?

$100-$125 USD. Ladies watches are not very desirable from a collectable stand point so their value is minimal.
