I have been helping my mother inlaw clean up and put batteries in some watches that she sells at the Lions Club thrift store. She was so impressed with the job I've done that she gave me a bag of old watches and jewelry that belong to her and belonged to her deceased 80+ year old "boyfriend" and asked me to check them out and fix them up.

Amongst some decent but not very special watches was this one. I've done some quick searching and from what I've read some vintage JJ watches are highly sought after by collectors. The fact that it appears to have the original and perfectly clear crystal and the case is all the better. The dial is obviously a mess but under the filth it looks like it is solid and glossy so it may clean up nicely. My guess is that it was left in a damp basement unused for decades. The band is German and clearly not original. The thin plating has worn off so I will polish it to a natural stainless finish.

This one is a keeper.
