    Good afternoon,

I am offering today a vintage Jaeger-Lecoultre Power reserve Cal 481 from 50/60's

I will try to give you a fair description of the Watch :

    Dial:
    - Two tone original dial signed Jaeger-Lecoultre . No defect or lost.
    Hands:
    - Original blue hands with nice patina (that's my opinion)
    Case:
    - The Sharp case (about 34mm) looks barely worn. No trace or scratch. Original factory polishing (especially on the side, two types of polishing are present / brush and Mirror).
    Caliber:
    - Caliber 481 signed Jaeger-Lecoultre in good working conditions. The Watch runs perfectly. No service history but the Watch was control by a watchmaker and works perfectly fine.
    Strap:
-good quality crocodile strap with generic buckle.

This is a very nice looking Watch. I will be happy to answer all your questions if you have any.

    Price:
I am asking 1000£ / 1250 euros / 1450 $ net to me. Paiement by bank wire (paypal is ok, please add 3%).
International Shipment available, please contact me to estimate shipment price. Watch is located in EU.
Reference available here or other Watch forum.
I will only answer PM from register members.

Here are the most important for you :

    hi again everybody,

As would like to be perfectly trasparent to everybody, it appears that Ulackfocus contact me about the dial 'originality'.
Consequently, I would like to have OF expert opinion on this dial, with explanation about the fact that this could be a repainted dial.

I would like also to give you additonal imput about the Watch wich appears to be unworn (never polish, almost never used (but i don't like NOS wording), which is for me not really in accordance with a repainted dial).
I found also this pics for another international seller, where the font and the wrinting appear to be identical to mine (except from the 'fabriqué en suisse'):

So if someone has any doubt, please let me know as i am really open to listen about any information / explanation and I really want also to have the clearest description about the Watch for potential buyer.

    Thansk again

I am not a JLC expert, but I think that the dial is likely to be original. "Fabrique en Suisse" was used, albeit on a minority of JLC dials.

    Here are some examples:

My concerns are the amount of ink - as in it's flat on this dial instead of having that slight 3D appearance. Also, the spacing of the letters of AUTOMATIC is uneven and the font looks strange.

I think it looks OK. The "Fabrique en Suisse" is supposed to be an add-on for French market only. Might have even been printed later than the rest of the dial.

The "Swiss" at the bottom clinches it IMO. Not sure about the seconds hand, but JLC was notorious for using different designs for those. I have never been able to figure that out.

This is one that if it turns out to be a redial, I want to know who did the work.

Thanks for the explanation everybody. For those very old watches it is always suspicious to find such immaculate dial so i understand people might be suspicious. Now, the condition of the dial is really matching the condition of the Watch, like new.
Hope this would find a nice home.

The opinions voiced on this thread were sufficient for me to pull the trigger. Just wanted to add that afterwards I also asked Zaf Basha (who is to JLC what Desmond is to the Connie) to take a look at it. According to him all's looking spot on.
