Just picked up an IWC oyster style case cal 852 automatic from the 1960s.

Have owned quite a few vintage iwc dress watches in my time now. Are they very much undervalued? The movement performance I've found exceptional, they're beautiful movements too, the decoration and detail (Geneva stripes, pearlage all over including the case back) seem to put it a rung above many other brands of this 50s and 60s era, at least just in terms of effort.

Yes. Vintage IWCs are serious watches.

IWC was on par with the best back then.

Why don't you shout how underpriced they are a little louder so the entire watch-buying planet can hear you? Surely we'd all love a ton of new competition to outbid on the brand.

Not really undervalued. They made some exceptional watches. I collect also IWC'S from the 50's and 60's and when I flip one they dont take long to sell. For good prices. So IMO not really undervalued.

What is "Pearlage"? Is it a form of Engine Turning or Jeweling?
