For sale today, a stainless steel vintage IWC cal 88, the serial number dates it to around 1947 I believe.
It is oversized, 37mm, and in excellent condition. I would say mint / near-NOS. I'm not an expert, but from the photos you can see it appears to be unpolished and retains excellent original brushed/polished finishing on the case, which is consistent with the mint dial and hands.
DETAILS:
- case is stainless steel, 37mm diameter , 19mm lug width, claw lugs
- dial and hands are a portugeuse style, in beautiful rose gold.
- manual wind caliber 88 is working perfectly and keeping excellent time (see video in google photos album below for
- note, while the crown functions perfectly, I have not seen this exact type of crown on vintage IWCs. I have included a spare NOS original IWC crown for you in the price, if you want to change it out. I have kept this crown because I find it very easy to wind.
- As far as I can tell it, dial and hands is original (minus perhaps the crown) and in excellent original condition. There is a gentle sublte horizontal brushing on the dial, and detailed tiny ribbing on the sub dial.
PRICE:
Not sure exactly how to price this, as some vintage IWCs with this dial + hand set seem to go for closer to the $10k mark.
I'm asking $3750 USD net to me, including tracked express shippping within Australia, anywhere else please ask me for a quote.
