Anyone who is an authority in Hamilton watches here. This beautiful example was offered to me and its in very good condition. The watch diameter excluding crown is 36mm and strap size is 20mm. The seller is asking for $650. Nor sure if its fair market value? Thanks.

From a period a bit later than what was Hamiltons heyday and therefor not as collectible.

Price seems high by a couple hundred.

    Love your avatar.

Thanks for the advise. The dial is quite unique for a dress watch cuz its more like a racing dial. Yes my avatar is one of the best looking vintage race cars, a 1957 Maserati 450s but still not as pretty as the Jaguar D type.

This watch is found in the 1972 Hamilton Catalog and is called "Day N Date - 2002":

Case would seem to be solid 14K gold. I would say it is worth gold melt plus $50 to $100 for the movement. Top end would be close to XJR's estimate, I would think it should work out to be a little lower.

    Hope this helps,

I'd say $400.00 would be reasonable, if the dial is really nice and there are no inscriptions on the back.
